In 2005, the Jon D. Brooks firm represented Haggar Apparel Company in the appeal of two jury verdicts in employment cases to the Texas Supreme Court. One verdict was for about $2 million in a case brought by a former employee who alleged she was discharged in retaliation for filing a workers' compensation claim. The other verdict was for about $250,000 and was brought by a former employee who alleged she was discharged because of disability discrimination. The firm filed successful petitions for review in both cases and following briefing on the merits, obtained a reversal and rendered judgments in both cases in favor of Haggar.
